Ignace Outposts Canadian Walleye - Our Beautiful Lakes

Flindt Lake

The only cabin on this pristine 3,400 acre northern lake accommodates up to 8 people. This facility has three bedrooms with hot and cold running water and a shower in the cabin. The cabin is set back into a secluded bay overlooking this cold northern lake. The Flindt River flows through this lake which is part of the Wabikimi park. Flindt Lake offers WALLEYE, and NORTHERN in abundance and could easily be considered one of the premiere fast water fishing lakes in the area. Flet Lake is accessible without portage for more walleye and northern action. A sauna by the water and a screened in fish cleaning house round out the amenities at Flindt Lake.

This 10,000 acre lake is located on the renowned Allanwater River System. Kawaeogama is fed from the south by Seseganaga Lake and produces above average sized walleye and norther. The lake is approx. 7 miles long and is lung shaped. The lake is well structured with many reefs and rocky islands. Sunray Lake is also accessible upstream without portaging. Seseganaga Lake

This is our main and largest outpost camp. This 30,000 acre body of water runs over 25 miles with hundreds of miles of shoreline. There is nowhere on this lake you can be more than 1/2 a mile from shore. This lake produces consistently and is one of the few lakes in Canada where 50 inch plus northern can still be found. Lake trout and walleye are also above average in size. Our camps here can accommodate up to 34 guests in 4 private and first class cabins. Two cabins are on one point, one cabin is across the bay, and the fourth cabin is a couple of miles away from main camp boasting a sauna and screened in fish cleaning house. A caretaker, an avid outdoors man, stays on the lake to ensure your trip is what you expect it to be.

Metionga Lake

This lake is a favorite of many groups for many, many years. Three cabins at the base of the rapids provide you with excellent access to Walleye and Northern fishing. Fine limits can be caught right off the dock. This is the recommended lake for those who are wishing to try their first remote fly out and for those who don't get bored catching fish. A couple of hundred walleye per day is not uncommon here. We have a caretaker at camp to ensure all is in order. There are three other lakes to fish with boats, motors and gas cached on two lakes for your use. Little Metionga Lake (itself over 6 miles long) is a popular portage lake. Walleye and Northern are in abundance. Groups of up to 20 can be accommodated in three cabins (10 man, 6 man, 4 man).

Hilltop Lake

Located on a beautiful sand beach, this is a well equipped 10 man camp. The cabin is cottage style with three bedrooms to comfortably accommodate families, fishing groups or couples. A boat is cached on nearby Two Lake for your exploration of a lake without an outpost on it. Hilltop produces consistent above average Walleye and Northern fishing. The sand beach and comfortable facilities offer an excellent family vacation destination. A wood fired sauna near the water wraps up the extraordinary amenities of this lake.

Irene Lake

This lake was obviously named after a beautiful woman. There are few places on earth which match the sheer beauty of Irene Lake. Ignace Outposts operates two facilities on this body of water, located 1/4 of a mile (but out of site) from each other. The Beach cabin has two bedrooms and is set up for 8, while the Point cabin has three bedrooms and a bunkhouse set up for 12. This arrangement offers complete privacy for two individual groups or the option of hosting one large group such as a couple of families, a fish and game club or a church group. Crystal clear, cold and deep, this lake produces excellent walleye, small mouth bass and lake trout, not to mention northern pike as well as whitefish - truly a "cook's pleasure". The cabins are unique but house the same basic amenities: hot shower, sauna by the water, radio communication, double and single beds, fully equipped kitchen, late model Mercury motors, pre-mixed gas (all you need) and 2 refrigerators and stove along with a deep fryer and gas bar-b-que. There are 4 lakes to fish from Irene Lake. A sauna at each location is a great way to end the fishing day.

Tri Lake

This cabin is located on an unnamed lake north of Tri Lake. These smaller lakes, absolutely secluded, are accessible from the cabin providing an adventurous solitude and great fishing opportunity. We generally will not book a group larger than 4 in this cabin unless it is a family group or a group of couples. The cabin is fully modern with shower, a deck on both sides, a sauna and it majestically sits between two lakes. Wildlife observation can be a major part of this experience with a great potential to view animals and birds in their own undisturbed domain. Walleye and Northern abound!

Gamble Lake

Gamble lake is an amazing small mouth bass and lake trout fishery. It is unparalleled in quantity and quality of these species. Pound for pound the small mouth is the greatest fighter and most exciting fish in this area. They are commonly found in rocky lakes with many crevasses and overhangs which are found in abundance in this lake. We also regularly see large northern pike caught and released on this lake.  Gamble lake is the head water of the renowned Gamble river system. Our 8-man facility is roomy and comfortable with a frame bunk house separate from the authentic log cooking cabin. A real Finnish sauna sits near the water inviting you to relax after a day in the boat. As one of our longtime guests says "It is the most fun lake I've ever been on!" Families, sportsmen, church groups, and businessmen alike find the quality of fishing and the beautiful setting worth returning to year after year.

If you are going to gamble, this Gamble is a sure bet.
